2 day workshops
For a really tough technical problem, we recommend this more intense approach with the entire PRIZM Method and Tools. If you can get the right specialists present, we still guarantee teams will get focussed ideas that could be patented, by the end of day 2.
It works like this:
You provide a Quest or significant company problem.
The PRIZM Method expands your thinking on this issue, using the PRIZM Game and Innovation Map with up to 11 additional games and thinking tools. Our Facilitator takes your team through several levels of problem-finding and solution-finding, including:
- 'The King of the World' to focus on the ultimate solution
- The '9 Windows of Time and Space' to better orient a problem
- 'System Analysis' to discuss a situation which has multiple stakeholders and requires solutions on multiple levels
- The 'Contradiction-Maker', to ask the 18 questions that mean the 'right' problem is found ... the one that really should be solved!
- The 'Inspiration Cards', to direct brainstorming and solution-finding, where it would not ordinarily go, using the 36 best solutions that engineers and nature have to offer
- The '3 Gatekeepers', to evaluate a prototype or business case, and decide which product has the greatest chance of immediate success
- The 'Decision-Capture' tool, to catch all team ideas and evaluation decisions, enabling them to be used for weeks, months or years after the workshop
Who can ask for the Method and Tools?
We only run this 2-day workshop in companies with dedicated Research & Development, Research and Technology, Learning and Development or Design Departments, who wish to develop patentable technology or any kind of advanced system.

You will also notice that we only briefly show you how to use the PRIZM Decision-Capture Tool in this Method and Tools workshop. You'll need to negotiate with us afterwards, if you want to test this on a real problem - that would take an additional day.
Tell me more about the Decision-Capture tool!
This is a database and proto-software that allows each team to track the entire process of social innovation, from problem-finding through idea-generation and evaluation. It tracks all important decisions made.
Keeping track of all your team decisions means you can:
- justify that all the important issues were actually discussed
- allow teams to revisit important points after the workshop. It means teams can add ideas and change direction years after the original decisions were made, if they so wish, without reinventing the wheel, saving valuable time and resources.
Ideas are like butterflies. They come and go. Capture the most important or beautiful ones so they are easy to see and explain!
